University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC)
Psychiatry & Behavioral programs at UWMC provide specialized services, with an emphasis on psychiatric problems in the context of co-existing serious medical problems.
Outpatient Services- Roosevelt Outpatient Clinic – Training Clinic with over 6,000 visits/year
- Psychiatry consultation services in other UWMC clinics – approximately 2,500 visits/year
Inpatient Services
UWMC Inpatient Unit (7 North) – A 14 bed unit with 550 visits/year
UWMC Medical/Surgical Inpatient Units (approximately 1500 consultations/year) for patients
who have primary psychiatric needs or psychiatric needs created by their complex
medical conditions.
Individuals or referring physicians requesting inpatient admission should call our Central Intake Office, 206.598.6195 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Admission requests outside of these hours are evaluated in the UWMC Emergency Room 206-598-4000 by our social work staff and on-call psychiatrists.
Our services do not include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or the resources to manage behaviorally disruptive patients or patients who require active, ongoing case management.
