Psychiatry & Behavioral programs at UWMC provide specialized services, with an emphasis on psychiatric problems in the context of co-existing serious medical problems.
Outpatient Services- Roosevelt Outpatient Clinic – Training Clinic with over 6,000 visits/year
- Psychiatry consultation services in other UWMC clinics – approximately 2,500 visits/year
Inpatient Services
UWMC Inpatient Unit (7 North) – A 14 bed unit with 550 visits/year
UWMC Medical/Surgical Inpatient Units (approximately 1500 consultations/year) for patients
who have primary psychiatric needs or psychiatric needs created by their complex
medical conditions.
Individuals or referring physicians requesting inpatient admission should call our Central Intake Office, 206.598.6195 8 a.m.- 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday. Admission requests outside of these hours are evaluated in the UWMC Emergency Room 206-598-4000 by our social work staff and on-call psychiatrists.
Our services do not include electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) or the resources to manage behaviorally disruptive patients or patients who require active, ongoing case management. Patients or providers requiring these services should contact Harborview Medical Center Psychiatry & Behavioral Sciences.
