Addictions Interdisciplinary Fellowship

This is a one-year fellowship in the Addictions Treatment Center at the Seattle VAMC. It is a specialized clinical fellowship in a team approach to substance abuse treatment. It utilizes a biopsychosocial model of addictive behaviors. Positions are available for Psychologists, Social Workers, Chaplains, and Nurses.

The goal of the training program is to provide clinical and didactic experiences through which the fellows will become more skilled in working therapeutically with substance abusers, become more familiar with the unique contributions that their professional disciplines make to the treatment team, and become aware of the issues in and benefits derived from the integration of their professional disciplines into an interdisciplinary treatment process.

Clinical Treatment Setting - The Addictions Treatment Center (ATC) is an integrated set of inpatient and outpatient clinical care programs that provide comprehensive treatment for individuals with alcohol and drug dependence and other addictive behaviors. A significant proportion of patients also have concurrent psychiatric disorders. The ATC offers long-term rehabilitation services and maintains a commitment to the continuity of care for substance dependent veterans. This care is provided by 55 clinical staff members. The composition of the staff, including Psychiatry, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Physicians Assistants, Pharmacy, Addictions Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Vocational Rehabilitation, reflects the ATC's commitment to interdisciplinary treatment. Staff associated with a number of research projects conducted within the ATC also provide support and make contributions to the clinical and educational functions of the ATC.

All Applicants must be US citizens. Applicants for postdoctoral psychology fellowships at the Seattle VAMC must be graduates of APA accredited doctoral programs and internships. Please call or write:
