Dr. Soo-Jeong Kim, board certified in general psychiatry and in child and adolescent psychiatry, is an Acting Associate Professor of Psychiatry, University of Washington. Dr. Kim graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine and completed her residency program in general psychiatry at Seoul National University. Dr. Kim received postdoctoral training studying molecular genetic bases of childhood-onset psychiatric disorders with Dr. Edwin Cook at University of Chicago. Subsequently, she completed residency and the first year of child fellowship at University of Chicago, and the second year of fellowship at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). Dr. Kim is an attending psychiatrist at Seattle Children’s Hospital. Her outpatient clinic is located in Seattle Children’s Autism Center, as her clinical and research interest converge on the genomic and epigenomic studies of neurodevelopmental disorders, such as autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). Her research lab is located in the Center for Integrative Brain Research (CIBR) of Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI). Dr. Kim has been collaborating with prominent researchers in genetics, ASD and PWS, including (but not limited to) Drs. Mary-Claire King and Tom Walsh at University of Washington, Drs. Ed Cook at UIC , Dan Driscoll at University of Florida, Elisabeth Dykens at Vanderbilt University, as well as CIBR investigators. Dr. Kim is actively recruiting participants for her funded and IRB approved studies, including families of children with ASD and/or PWS.
