Bio
My research interests:
1. Development of positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers to characterize CNS alpha-1 noradrenergic receptors and CNS noradrenergic responsivity in relation to psychiatric symptoms in Alzheimer’s disease and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).
2. Investigation of potential neuroimaging biomarkers of brain injury, such as [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose PET, magnetic resonance diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), and blood-oxygen-level-dependent magnetic resonance functional connectivity mapping (BOLD fcMRI), in combat Veterans with repetitive blast trauma mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI) and persistent postconcussive symptoms (PPCS).
3. Characterization of CNS cholinergic and dopaminergic transporter function in relation to cognition and behavioral disorders in Alzheimer’s disease, Lewy body dementia, and Parkinson’s disease, by means of single photon emission tomography (SPECT) and PET brain imaging techniques.
