How to Make a Referral to the Geriatric Psychiatry Services
The Geriatric Psychiatry Program at UW Medical Center offers a range of specialized, integrated services for older adults suffering from late-life mental disorders. Consultations, care planning, and recommendations for ongoing treatment are multidisciplinary and family-friendly. We accept Medicare and many supplemental plans.

Specialized Staff
Our core team includes specialists in geriatric psychiatry, neuropsychology, and social work. Affiliated services include neuroimaging (radiology and nuclear medicine), internal medicine, sleep medicine, neurology, rehabilitation, nursing, and occupational therapy.

We are dedicated to supporting the best possible care of older adults and assisting providers in the community to manage neuropsychiatric disorders effectively.

We focus on cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and medical management problems due to Alzheimer's disease, other degenerative neuropsychiatric diseases, and overlapping medical-psychiatric disorders. We also see older patients with complex mood and psychotic disorders. Through our outpatient clinic and inpatient hospital service we offer rapid assessment and treatment for acutely ill patients, as well as regularly scheduled consultations and treatment planning tailored to the needs of both patients and their families and caregivers.
